Soooooo Good

As I constantly look for ways to de-stress, relax, and deal with many other things, I find myself repeatedly turning to ASMR – something I haven’t done in a few days.  That’s what happens when I get distracted by something new, like mukbang.

But today, my favorite ASMRtist uploaded, and OMG the tingles went clear down my spine, and into my tailbone! 😻

Of all the ASMR I’ve listened to, Michael (ASMR Zeitgeist) is by far my favorite.  His creativity not only continues to be fresh and original, but the tingles (chills???) he gives me are the best.  I’m not sure whether it’s his equipment, or the way he uses it, but I can’t seem to get the same intense tingles from other ASMRtists.  And NO, that’s not meant to be sexual!  So, stop.

But yes.  I’m a huge fangirl, and a terrible cougar. Guilty.  Shoot me.  😂  He’s very easy on the eyes, and very talented with his microphone.  😉

Back to coping with stress, anxiety, and depression.  I was thinking of utilizing some of my many adult coloring books people have given me (example here) while listening to ASMR, but something tells me I might make a lot of mistakes due to the intensity of a lot of the ASMR I listen to.  So I’ll stick to zonking out in my chair, and save the coloring books for another time.

PS:  I made several mistakes writing this very entry while listening to the above video!  HAHA

Premium ASMR Content

Recently, two of my favorite ASMRtists joined for the most amazing and fun collaborations in the world of ASMR.

I’m speaking, of course, about WhispersRedASMR and ASMR Zeitgeist.

This collab has been the most anticipated ASMR content for several months.  It is my honor to share with you the following – with permission, of course. 😉

Emma and Michael seem to have ‘hit it off’.  I’m not usually a fan of cheese, but this really made me laugh.  And the outtakes …

Then Michael’s video…

Looks like Frank and Margaret have a special chemistry.

If you’ve never heard of ASMR, head to YouTube, and search ASMR.  There are many talented ASMRtists, but these two are my favorites.  ASMRmagic and Dr. T ASMR are at a close 2nd place.

So plug in your earbuds, pick a video, and prepare for something different and possibly relaxing.

Soundgasm … Was This A Previous Title?

Jesus H…

I’ve been listening to ASMR for a little over year now, and just today, one of the few ASMRtists I subscribe to has managed to make my pupils dilate, along with giving me MAJOR tingles – a rarity for me because of my extensive hearing loss.

Ladies and gentlemen, Dr. T ASMR

He is awesome!

All you pervs, get your minds out of the gutter. Sometimes ASMR can provoke some mild sexual arousal, but that’s really not what ASMR is all about, regardless of the countless YouTube channels out there that sexualize it.

The 3D sound of ASMR provokes a rather unusual response within the brain, creating a feeling similar to goosebumps along the back of your skull, and sometimes down your spine.

Quite literally, a tingle. NOT SEXUAL!!! So stop it right now.

ASMR is a mini euphoria of sorts. In the correct setting, it is thoroughly relaxing, and often induces such a relaxed state, it puts most listeners to sleep – which is what many listeners are seeking, given their moderate anxiety and sleep troubles.

I can’t tell you how often I have sat in my recliner and plugged in for the sole purpose of seeking a calm, relaxing session of tingle inducing ASMR. It’s very popular, and for a very big reason: It’s relaxing, and definitely helps with easing anxiety and sleep issues.

Similar to white noise, depending on individual preference and what helps them, ASMR helps with achieving a decent night of rest.

I don’t know how else to describe it, so, check it out for yourself.

Some of the most popular ASMRtists are WhispersRed, ASMR Darling, ASMR Zeitgeist, ASMRMagic, and Gentle Whispering ASMR, to name just a handful, along with the gaining popularity of the slime and floam specialty subgenre of ASMR.

Slime in itself is a popular fad. But when you find the right creators who provide high quality videos and live streaming, you will be well on your way to sleeping like a log. I should know. I’m currently listening to a live slime/floam stream as I type this entry, and my eyelids are fucking fighting to stay open, even though I had a good night’s sleep last night.

Just go try it out. What’s the worst that could happen?

If certain sounds bother you, such as mouth sounds, and similar sounds, then ASMR is not for you. It will make you want to either destroy your earphones, or punch your computer screen, or both.

The Only Thing I Need

My GOD! I’ve figured out one of the reasons David Garrett gives me such an ….. amazing FEELING when I listen to his music!

Extraordinary talent, charisma, and looks aside, I’ve been trying to nail what it is about him that has me so mesmerized and literally addicted to his music – since 2012!

If anyone has read some of my earlier posts about a phenomenon called ASMR, I have literally just connected the dots.

Since there are virtually no recordings of him performing without backing music, I’ve been unable to explain the euphoria I experience when I listen to him. Until tonight, as I sit here watching YouTube videos with my earbuds snugly in my ears.

I started out an hour ago, listening to some Toronto videos – the concert I attended about a year and a half ago. One video led to another, and I got into the classical side of his performances. And then I revisited this.

When he picked up the Guarneri, the back of my head tingled – the same way it does when I listen to some of my favorite ASMR videos.

Here is one of my all time favorites, by my favorite ASMR creator – who also happens to be German, like David Garrett.

What is it about German men??? Sigh…

Anyways, I just wanted to share my excitement.

Now, back to what I was previously doing – listening to David Garrett. ♥

Have you ever gotten to a point to where you just can’t settle down enough to relax?  Do you have trouble falling asleep?  Are you anxious?  Your mind is racing, perhaps?

WARNING:  If you have misophonia, then stop right now.  What I’m about to recommend is NOT for anyone with misophonia.

For the those who don’t have sensitive ears, this may interest you.

Not long ago, I discovered something called ASMR.  It was by accident, when I was watching a YouTubers react video.  Phil Lester mentioned something about ASMR.  I had never heard of it.  Naturally, I Googled it, and found MANY videos.

Have you ever heard a sound close to your ears, and it made you shiver?  This is basically what ASMR is.  Except better.  Especially when you use earphones or ear buds.

The first ASMR video I encountered was this.

Masking tape was the first trigger for me.  If you don’t know what a trigger is, it’s basically whatever triggers your response – your shiver, or, as these ASMR community calls it, your tingle.  And believe me, once you experience that tingle, you will want more.

Since ASMR Darling has a more gentle approach, I began to search for something stronger – the male voice.  Even though these YouTubers whisper, there’s something about a male voice that triggers a bigger response.  Female voices only give me a mild tingle – usually in the back of my head.

This guy gave me a little bit more.

Pardon my example.  It’s his latest upload.  This one is one of his better ones, because he gets closer to the microphone.

Then there’s this.

First of all, what a cutie!  But WOW, does he give me tingles!  All the way down to my tailbone.  His whispering voice is deep, and he really knows how to work Frank, his 3D microphone.

But it’s not only tingles you can experience with ASMR!  If you’re one of those who gets into the zone with music, then this will almost definitely put you in a trance-like state – if it doesn’t outright put you to sleep.
